On 8/18/18, purchased a lease for new 2018 Volvo S60 and left Gunther Delary, FL dealer at 9pm. (Volvo delearship in Delray, FL, on Federal Highway).
On 8/19/18, the following morning, I noticed condensation under trunk mat, water droplets in back of trunk on mat, and the rug underneath mat was wet, with water droplets in tire well, and car pulled to right when driving on highway. Immediately, on 8/19, at 11:30am, I returned to dealership after notifying sales agent on his cell phone and company VM that we were bringing the car back, wanted our old Volvo back, and not to remove our old Volvo from the lot due to problems noted above.
We were the first customers who checked into the lobby and gave our name to the receptionist. When asked, we told her our concerns and asked to speak to the GM and sales agent. After waiting 30 minutes in the lobby and not being helped, we returned to desk and requested again to meet with GM. He appeared in lobby and asked us what our problem was as if he didn’t know. (We had already told the receptionist and the sales agent and he agreed to tell the GM when we spoke to him on this cell before the dealership opened.)
He inspected the trunk, showed him the pictures, said "It's dry now." When asked about returning car, said, “Nope" "Buyers remorse". Our sales agent saw us sitting in the dealership lobby waiting to to be helped and never acknowledged us. Multiple times he ignored us as he walked by and greeted other customers with a smile and waited on them and pretended he didn't know us. Far different than how he treated us the day before we purchased a vehicle from him and he made his commission.
I contacted the Delray police department to file a complaint. He arrived and spoke to the GM. After meeting with the Volvo GM, police agreed to file a report and advised it was a civil matter and to contact an attorney for advice.
We tried to contact lease company, closed... We did eventually leave our car at dealership. Later, my husband spoke to GM and he agreed to take to service in the morning but, would not give any paperwork or any documentation as to why we were leaving car or document what our concerns were. They would not give a car loaner either.
