I've had the car since new. The car has been garaged 7 out of its 8 years. I've done every recommended service and even a few extra services. Not once has the dealer or owners manual recommended a sunroof service. Currently have to leave car in garage and can't use because I'm concerned about further damage - it rains hard in South Florida. I'm waiting for available appointment at local Volvo dealer. In the research I've done, it seems like a very common and known problem on these cars.

My right sunroof drain is clogged after troubleshooting the problem. Unfortunately the car is starting to smell like mildew, and I'm guessing water has been leaking before I realized there was a problem. I reached out to Volvo several times via email and the customer service line. Zero response from them. Very frustrating to deal with this company. There is a good reason why they're consistently in last place or amongst last place in almost all reliability and resale value studies. If you're considering purchasing or leasing a Volvo, be prepared to spend a lot of time at the repair shop and make sure you have money saved for very expensive repairs. It seems like they won't even help their customers that are under warranty for the dreaded well known sunroof drain clogs.

Very poor quality cars with horrible customer support. Before considering a Volvo just Google sunroof leaks and look at the class action lawsuits pending or dismissed and read about other customers that have cars under warranty and about Volvo not covering them when their vehicles leak and cause extensive damage to vehicles that are a few years old. My extended warranty ended in January, and it saved me a fortune. Don't let the smooth ride and comfortable seats fool you, these cars are unreliable money pits. Unfortunately my Mother owns a 2016 xc 60, and the car already had an expensive repair with less than 26,000 miles, two months out of its 36 month warranty.
