I am an unfortunate and miserable owner of Volkswagen Vento Petrol Highline. My vehicle has just crossed 25000 KM. On one fine morning, the car did not move – since the gears could not be engaged.

The vehicle was towed to the VW service station and they said the clutch plates are damaged due to the recent one hour rain, and had to be replaced on my cost. I own cars for the past 25 years, like Maruti, Toyota, Honda and VolksWagen. I have not come across such a problem, or even heard about like this, even after 75000 KMs.

I wonder how the clutch plates could become useless on driving in rain. This should be a manufacturing defect, and I request the company to look into this matter seriously and get me the car with fresh clutch plates without any cost.
