It started a few days after getting the car. While humidity was fairly high (in the morning or on rainy day), there was some banding in the image while going in reverse. When staying in reverse, for some time after the banding, the image stopped completely until the car was restarted (key out).

Brought the car to the dealer which replaced the camera. Since then, the issue did not occur again even on rainy days.
