One by one, the black lock buttons on the outside door handles stopped working. Then I started getting weird clicking noises behind the dash and when driving at low speeds, the screen would display "move selector lever to position P". Then my battery started draining overnight. After doing some research, this is because of the Kessy system (VW's Smart-Key system) glitching out because of bad door handles short circuiting. I ended up disconnecting all four door handles before they fried the Kessy module, and all the problems disappeared. When I financially recover from all the other surprises that this car has given me, I'll replace the driver's handle with a new one ($400)
