The contact owns a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg. While driving at 35 mph, the contact heard an unusual rattling noise. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where a defect was found in the driveshaft. The contact called the manufacturer who confirmed their knowledge of the failure but would provide no assistance. The vehicle was repaired at the contacts expense. In addition, the transmission valves were defective. The vehicle was currently at the dealership awaiting repairs. The current and failure mileages were approximately 70,000.
