Seems like VW Touareg is overall a bad price/performer vehicle! Not long ago I experienced a problem with Turbo failure, various important electronics, and not this drive shaft bearing support failure! Fortunately I realized ahead of time that something bad was in the making - soft noises during rolling and strong vibrations under the armrest during rapid acceleration... Went to the repair shop in a nick of time - I fixed the problem with used parts to avoid overwhelming costs. Failure to detect the problem could have left me stranded on the highway and probably also cause severe transmission damage.
Definitely VW Touareg is NOT a reliable car - Sleek looking, expensive to purchase and even more so to maintain, but not reliable and not lasting...Pitty... There goes the image of a perfect car... Luxury SUV but don't bet on quality... :(
