Have taken the car to several repair facilities and none can seem to turn the airbag warning light off. We live in a small rural community, but we have also taken it to a dealer in "Springfield MO" who wants to charge us an outrageous sum just to diagnose the issue. It seems so obvious that it needs only to be reset after the battery (that is under the seat and requires the seat to be removed to change it!!) was changed.
This is the same dealer that said that our engine that blew at 50,050 miles was out of the 50k warranty (or we must have driven it when the engine was hot)! Cost us $19,600 for a new engine. Volkswagen America and Germany would not help. Since then you see all the problems that are coming to light with VW and their coverups. Do your research well on any VW product because you will be totally on your own once you buy it. This was my 4th VW---never, NEVER again.
