We leased my 2019 Tiguan SE 4Motion 2.0L TSI DOHC 8-Speed Automatic with Tiptronic on 6/22/19.
We took the car on a trip from VA to NY State and then up to Boston, MA and back to VA, so we put a lot of miles on the vehicle in a short amount of time. About a week after returning to VA (around 7/10/19), we noticed oily spots in the driveway; after doing more checking, we determined the vehicle had a transmission leak.
Convincing the dealership that there was a problem was not so easy. They finally agreed to that there was a problem; they kept the vehicle for about three weeks and ended up replacing the transmission. I thought the problem was a weird fluke and everything would return to normal.
Since then, I've had problems increasing in severity: there is a very loud rattle when the car starts and when the car is idling. If the start/stop system is activated, there is a delay in the restart when I take my foot off the brake, and a very small lurch forward as it restarts. When I am at a stop and then push on the accelerator to go, there is a definite delay; driving in Sport mode helps somewhat (the delay is not as obvious). There is also a hot, burning oil smell.
I just took my Tiguan back to the dealership on Friday for them to access these issues; they called yesterday (Tuesday) and said they found no problems; the car had no codes and it was found to be performing as designed. I'm very glad I leased this vehicle and did not purchase it. I'm very frustrated that I am having so many issues with a brand new vehicle.
Other issues: electrical. The vehicle also occasionally has warning lights, most often the EPC light. Twice I had the passenger seat belt light and chime go off repeatedly for miles for no reason (nothing was in the front passenger seat).
