Buyer beware! Don't buy a Tiguan (or any Volkswagen) or you'll regret it. They don't care about their customers or making a quality product, and that warranty they hype so much is worthless if they won't actually fix serious safety issues.
The quick summary:
I leased a brand new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan in May of 2018. In less than 4 months, the vehicle has exhibited numerous problems from minor to major (including some safety problems which make the vehicle risky to drive), and the manufacturer and dealer refuse to help despite several attempts on my part to resolve these issues with them directly.
A detailed description of the problems I have been facing, along with videos illustrating a couple of the issues, can be found at my website "bad tiguan . com" (remove the spaces)
Don't make the same mistake I did. Buy anything other than a Volkswagen.
Frontal collision triggers way too early, causing sudden unexpected braking which could be dangerous and cause my vehicle to be rear-ended. (I have even set the system to trigger late and it didn't help). See video.
