Dealer said they couldn't do anything until engine light went on. After a few months, light finally lit up. Dealer replaced ignition coil, but car is still behaving similarly, but only slightly less extreme.
It only happens when car is started after an extended period, e.g. first thing in the morning or after work. After driving for 5-10 minutes, issue goes away.
