I'm sure there are thousands of happy Tiguan owners but I'm not one of them. This was a gift. Had I taken this car for a test drive I would not have accepted it. I have gashed my leg open three times on the curved door frame. I have also torn my dress and a pair of pants.
My knee rests on the steering wheel adjustment lever. If I'm ever in an accident my knee cap will be the first to go. I had to remove all the head rests (except mine) just so I could see out the side and back windows. The seats remind me of a coach seat on an airplane. These seats are way too narrow and don't have enough foam padding. Loose the center divider and widen the seats. I can't see the camera screen when the sun is shining and even then it's not very clear. I don't use the camera at all. I feel the engine is too loud in town, but then again I am driving a Volkswagen. I don't hear it so much on the highway.
I am grateful to my mother for giving me a new car for my birthday. How many mothers would do that? But she leased this car so she could afford the payments and no amount of begging or crying is going to make the VW dealer let me return it. I have to drive it until the lease is up. I feel like kicking and screaming like a little child. Lesson learned? Never accept a car you haven't driven. Signed, Totally bummed out............
