The car from new was using oil, the dealer kept telling us that a liter of oil was normal usage for 1000 kms. We took the car to another dealer to check it and they found the motor had a cracked piston.
The car never ran smoothly and now it is in for repairs and the dealers say it may have a cracked engine block.
The engine should have been fully replaced being a new car at the time and for what the price of these cars are as they really are not that special and really do let down the name of Volkswagen (as they used to be)!!!
