The check engine light had come on in my car again, which was not an uncommon occurrence. I go to head home and then a very loud noise starts from under my hood and the car stalls. Luckily I only had 3 blocks to make it home. I get home, turned the car off and restarted and the noise persists. I have the car towed to Fletcher Jones in Chicago where I have a friend who is a VW mechanic. Luckily I got it to him as he found 11 failure codes and was able to help me with the cost. The problem making the noise was the oil separator valve. He replaced it and it wiped out the codes....temporarily anyways.
