As a pretty loyal Volkswagon customer (we've had 4), was pretty pissed at 30,000 mile oil change on our 2022 Taos that the rear brake pads needed replaced. I would normally start expecting that at 100k on any other vehicle. Contacted Volkswagon and no remedy/recall for the issue. After paying $693 this will be my last Volkswagon.
With 9100 miles the rear brakes were completely worn and the brake discs corroded and were also replaced as the 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty does not cover it. The strange thing is how they wear out so fast and the front ones don't. The vehicle only has 6 months of use and all its brake discs and pads had to be replaced. The rear discs must have a factory defect but the cost is being covered by the consumer.
