Ever since we bought this vehicle we have had nothing but issues. Our latest issue; the wife tried start the VW ROUTAN and it would not start.. had it towed to a VW dealership, within a 10 min span, she was told the Fuel pump relay solenoid (TIPM) needed to be replaced: at the tune of $1302.00 . The way the service tech had explained it, we thought it had to do with replacing the fuel pump only to discovered that its not the fuel pump but a relay solenoid that's located in the fuse box compartment....involves unplugging and replacing the fuse box. Further investigating shows that Chrysler ( which is what this crappy Routan is)-- according VW Corp ...they made the engine and transmission we just slap our VW badge on it...literally!!!) issued recall back in 2014 -- a $20.00 chop repair for their Vehicles having the same issue. However VW dealer or Corp somehow never Knew of Chrysler's' recall.. and again the line was WE are VW They Are Chrysler they recalled their vehicles we did not ( Seems to be the new Trend .. When selling good ,making money" WE are a Part of That Brand/Thing" .. Problems, issues Arises NOOO its that company's' Fault we had nothing to do with it; therefore you are out of luck/Cash . I tried to find the TIPM splice from Chrysler dealerships only to be told that Chrysler sent out enough to do their recall repair therefore, the part number does not exist and even if they find one, they can't sell because Chrysler does not allow them to. $1302... for a unplug TIPM. At least Chrysler involved finding, cutting and splicing three wires. Cmon VW..
