After changing the transmission range sensor back in Feburary for this same problem, the VW Dealership Service Department is now telling me there is a bad Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). Parts on backorder for 2-3 weeks (yes, weeks). Today I read on the VW Owners Club Forum that this issue has been addressed by Dodge/Chrysler (the makers of the VW Routan) but VW refuses to address the issue. This seems to be a chronic issue which typically happens prior to 50,000 miles. VW needs to address with a recall and an improved module.
