It started out with loss of all power and "popcorning" then EPC kicked in and it ran at half power. Replaced all sensors, gave it a tune up, thought that maybe the cat was clogged (nope) but still haven't figured out the issue. It was my father's car before it was mine and he only had problems with the front wheel bearings. I had it for two years before it went stupid. Been trying to figure out what's wrong with it since December 2020. I swear to good it hates me. The last two years it's been hard to start while EPC is on but if it doesn't go into EPC it starts right up but then acts like an asshole until I force it into EPC. A common problem with this motor (Jetta, Golf and Rabbit) is that the ignition coil pack wiring harness goes bad and you can't find one anywhere. Can't use a salvage one because it's a common problem. Back in September 2022 the windshield wiper arm broke at the damn knuckle of the driver wiper. Now, the damn slave cylinder went. As it sits it's a 3200 lb lawn ornament with expensive fixes. Never had a problem with the brake module, never had a problem with the fuel delivery system. I hope someone knows how I can fix this because it was my dad's car and he's dead and I can't get rid of it because it was his.
