This is a sealed manual transmission, no indicator lights at all to tell me that there was an issue with the transmission. Instead, driving it and not being able to shift at all. VW says both front axles are leaking tranny fluid which you cannot even add to as it is sealed. I bought this car because it was suppose to last more that 165k miles. I had a Chevrolet Celebrity that had over 300k before it had an issues.
This is a defect in the design of this transmission. I read that they were telling people back in 2010 with automatics to replace the value bodies because of this reason. Well mine is a manual and my extended warranty is no longer in effect. I feel duped and it makes me sick to think how much I paid for this car. I should have bought a Honda and drove it for 500k. I want VW to recall this car as there is no way of knowing this is even happening until it is to late and it is now a safety hazard.
