Summer time, the head unit acts up horribly. The touch screen is a huge failure point. After doing research, it CAN be done (replace screen). But I just deal with it. I often have to do a hard reset (hold both knobs in) to get the screen to work for a couple clicks to get android auto working. Often times, I'll hear the tapping clicking over and over as if I was touching the screen but I'm not. If this is happening, I can not use steering wheel controls except for volume.
There are several software related issues with this head unit as well. Not sure how VW let this go out the door. If Bluetooth connects to device before you plug in USB for android auto, you will get a green screen. Just unplug and plug back in.
All in all, the head unit is junk.
