64,000 miles and losing oil. Came to a mechanic and replaced the pcv valve hub for $450. 2000 miles later needed to add an additional 2 quarts of oil. Have not been able to have it fixed correctly yet.
Within the past couple of months, I have noticed extremely high oil consumption. I have been burning through a quart of oil a week roughly every week. As of a couple of days ago, black oil started spitting out of the exhaust and all of the lights on my dash flashed on and back off. Now, I am not driving it and have left it parked. Looking into getting it towed somewhere and looked at... Very upsetting that this is occurring at less than 100k miles when I have always kept up on regular maintenance.
I know VW had issues / lawsuits with cars consuming too much oil and having these exact problems on cars with relatively lower mileage, so I thought it was worth sharing my issue here! I personally am wondering if it is the piston rings... Guess we will see!
