AdBlu failures of any kind result in automatic engine shutdown. This is really nasty.
VW already has a serious TDI problem and this problem is closely related. Failures of the AdBlu system should be covered by long term Warranty.
Fixing the problem requires removing the rear tires, bumper and all the rear exterior before the AdBlu system is even visible. Next remove the AdBlu tank and all the controls is a major task. Finally the pump and heater assembly has to be taken out and COMPLETELY REPLACED! No, the heater can't be purchased separately. So a $10 item is fixed with a $700 replacement and a couple of hours labor.
