Every now and then the TPMS light would go off. I would check the pressure and it would be right and I reset the TPMS switch and all is well.

Took it to the dealer for an early oil change before taking a long road trip 400 miles to Tennessee for the weekend. The dealer does there check over of the car (they also found the CV Boot was torn) and they changed the tire pressure. I was running 35 PSI in my tires and they lowered it to 29.

These cars don't have TPMS. They use a sensor to see if the wheels feel unbalanced or there is a sudden change. So my guess is that since they lowered my tire pressure it sensed a "change" and threw my check tire pressure light on. At first i thought i had a flat right before i left fro my road trip. Got out and looked at my tires... drove home to check the pressure... did a quick google search and they said to reset the pressure. Held the button in my glove box for 10 seconds and it hasn't come on again since :)

Just figured i would share in case anyone else had this issue. Nothing too serious i would rather have it go off and me check than fail when a tire actually is flat

Passat SEL Premium 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission

The low tire pressure light came on causing us to exit the interstate. The tire pressures were correct and none were low. Resetting the indicator turned off the light. This occurred soon after a problem with the navigation system.

Update from Jun 11, 2013: Reprogramming the radio cleared the problems.
