I had a problem in my VW Passat valve body and it was reported as an official problem by VW US. Accordingly in USA, VW made a warranty extension on VW Passat cars till 100,000 mile or 7 years.

When I reported the warranty extension with an official VW USA letter to the local dealer in Egypt, they refused to make any official reply and claimed that this does not apply to Egypt Customers.

I sent an express mail to VW AG CEO with all the supporting documents but it seams that VW is making discrimination according to Country since I got no feedback from them,

I bought my VW Passat from one of the official distributors of the VW dealer in Egypt. It is model 2007 Shasee 17284 and motor 302142 four cylinder 1595 CC.now has 143 000 KM Automatic gear.

For one year I noticed an abnormal stitch in the gear box since one year and was told by the dealer not to do anything about it over the last three service they told me there was something wrong with the gearbox that can not be repaired. last week they said the computer denotes that the car needs a new gearbox that costs 65000 Egyptian pounds mind you that I payed 227000 pounds for the whole new car.

What is you advice and is it fair to pay all this sum of money for a new gear is it part of the guarantee for an essential part of the car what is your advice
