Sir, I'm a Volkswagen customer having Polo and Passat. I stay in Guntur, AP. My Passat had a breakdown in Oct 2012 and it was towed to Orion motors Hyderabad Gachibowli workshop. They assessed my vehicle and confirmed it was injector failure due to adulterated diesel. Gave me an estimation for 2.6 lacs. When asked for covering under goodwill warranty since it was an old car (then already 3 yr old vehicle) they after 25 days told me that it was done and showroom was giving me a 70% discount. I was more than happy and got my car back in shape in DEC 2012 after paying 93000 lacs.
Coming back to present day July 2014, I gave my car for a regular service in Guntur ,AP with Lakshmi Volkswagen, the vehicle was given for a general service and they asked my vehicle in charge to come by 5 for delivery. Eve my person went and they went for a trial before delivery while my person was waiting in the reception. The mechanic comes back saying car stopped while returning and they towed it back inside workshop and assess it and call me back saying its a 2 lac repair and the problem is injector failure. My person argued with them saying car had no problems and we gave for a general service, so how come such a thing happen and demanded the car to be returned in working condition. They after having their internal discussion for an hour returned and told my person that they will get it repaired under warranty and handed without any billing for the said cause. My person returned back and after 24 hours showroom people call and say that Volkswagen said it's a 6 year old car so warranty cannot be given. We asked them as to how they said earlier and how they did not know it was a 6 year old car when they offered to cover under warranty. We then had to tell them about the 2012 incident and how injectors were changed and how it did not reflect in the cars history. They were at loss explaining it and said they will look into and call back in 24 hrs. Then we got a call after 24 hrs saying that they spoke to Volkswagen and Volkswagen said in 2012 the parts were given 100% waiver so they cannot do it again. We told them that we paid 93000 for it and Lakshmi people then said OK, then its Hyderbad showroom might have conned me.
I then asked them to give all that (since the day U gave my car for service in Guntur) in writing and with stamp with showroom md's signature, they said sir not in town. Then we asked md's father (Lakshmi Showrrom chairman) to sign it and they say he's not there. Then we asked the GM to sign it and he is not in showroom.
Then we called Hyd showroom Orion motors and asked them to provide us a bill copy of our 93000 paid detail and they simply say according to our computer your car on the said dates (Oct 2012) did not visit our showroom and hung up. We called them again and asked them to verify again and they did so and say "no sir your car did not visit".
So I want to know from Volkswagen India if I was conned in Hyderabad. Furthermore like a bonus now my car is stuck on Guntur Lakshmi with injector problem when the car was given just for a general service (you guys can check the job card ) with a hefty 2.96 lac return gift. I am at loss what to do.
Do I sell my Volkswagen Passat in present form and also sell my polo fearing future problems. Or, since I was genuinely victimized, Volkswagen is coming to my rescue? Please do the needful at the earliest. Also advise me what I have to do in this scenario.
