This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.

Takata recall. It has been over a year that I have been driving my VW Passat with recalled airbags. My son will soon be driving and I will not allow him to drive this vehicle until the airbag is replaced. I need the airbag replaced before he starts to drive in the summer of 2017. I have received no information from VW regarding the recall and my dealer only says that they are still waiting. Not having this fixed is putting myself at risk and will require us to purchase a new car for my son unless fixed in time for him to start driving. Not having an estimated date for the issue to be fixed by VW is unacceptable.

Takata recall. It has been over a year since the original recall ( 2/9/16) and nothing has been done. This time delay for a life threatening defect is unacceptable.
Takata recall the driver's side airbag was recalled over a year ago, and it still hasn't been replaced. VW of America gives no timeline as to when it will be replaced. This has gone way beyond a reasonable time period in which the replacements could be obtained. My vehicle is not safe currently. VW says it's safe to drive, but not safe to get into an accident. I am unable to drive it due to this serious safety problem.

Why, neatly a year later is there no fix available for the takata airbag issue? while thankfully we've not been directly affected, it is not acceptable to be subjected to this risk 11 months after discovery of defect. Please put pressure on VW and takata to bring a resolution quickly.
