I have been to 3 mechanics and 2 dealers. First dealer wanted $1500 to completely fix the 17 OBDII codes showing. The 3rd mechanic went through the proper troubleshooting procedure, (Bills Euro Mechanic in Brooksville, FL) and they found that the ECM was completely grounded (as should be) for 5Volt reference to sensors on engine. There are multiple reference-grounds on the ECM. His tester showed that the ECM "LOST THE GROUND", seconds after the engine was started.
The ECM had to be replaced with an Identical one (from salvage luckily). The model (3C0 907 115 F) is not compatible with P or G (ending)models. Dealer said it was, but ended up incorrect. THEN, The dealer had to code the Engine ECM and tune it to the existing equipment, themselves. The process took 1.5 hours, but I got billed for $ 290.00 labor and equip. usage and I supplied the used ECM.
The biggest bit*h I have, Is, that the dealer HAS to be THE ONE to CODE the ECM on year models 2006 AND 2007. The rest of the passats and Jettas can be coded by aftermarket software, iE: Small certified shops. This seems to be by design and Im NEVER buying VW bullsnot products, EVER again. Using the language of the day, I say that VW is building problems into their products and cheating their way into financial gain via "auto-terrorism". I'm sure they are proud of their recent achievements in diesel emissions automation, as well. Volkswagen absolutely disgusts me. God Bless you, ya Bastages. Sincerely, Robert-H...USA
