I bought a VW PASSAT TDI in 2005. The injectors had a defect, that was recognised by VW and they were exchanged by new ones paid by SIEMENS and VW last year. Now I discovered that there is another defect in this car (the ones produced 2004-2005), that is in the oil pump. It was already published (http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b5/oil-pump-failure-passat-tdi.htm) and I contacted customers with the same problem through some forums.
The defect is in an hexagonal shift that becomes round ("by chance" next models changed this shift for another model) and so there is no power enough to pump the oil and consequently the motor crash. That is what happened. VW should recognize this instead of hiding it, and assuming the damage!
