I own a 2002 VW Passat Wagon 1.8 Turbo. This piece of junk was a problem from the day I bought it new. Several recalls and now, after replacing the timing belt and coolant pump at 98K miles, the transmission is GONE at 109K miles!!! DO NOT BUY A VOLKSWAGEN OF ANY KIND! They are costly to repair, only a VW mechanic should service your car because it has so many sensors on it. Oil sludge problems, on and on and on. They look great and drive great but after a few years you will pay the price! Germany doesn't make cars like they used to. What car maker does anymore! DON'T BUY VOLKSWAGEN'S! You have been warned!
Signed, VERY Regretful
