Bought car new. 43275 miles. I am OLD (68) and drive like an OLD person....slow and careful............backed out of my garage yesterday and heard a BANG and down went the driver side.......broken coil spring......had to have it towed to nearest foreign car garage...$85.00....$1100 to replace spring (and struts as long as they are in there).......bad enough except I just had to do brakes all around as the rotors were rusted and warped....brakes were great just bad rotors!.........this car has never sat outside is garaged every night........gets a bath once a week....looks great.........and now I am afraid to buy another VW......I am just grateful that I did not have it on the freeway with a customer in the car..... COIL SPRINGS should not break for no reason !!!
