VW 2002 Passat – Interference by the upper right hand corner of the snap-in carpet on the driver's side caused the car to accelerate even after removal of the driver's foot from the gas pedal. Car was stopped by turning off the engine. Proper prior installation of the snap-in carpet was confirmed. The upper right hand corner of the snap-in carpet was trimmed to avoid any future interference with accelerator mechanism.
