I have had an overheating problem with the same vehicle VW Microbus 2.3i (Original Audi 5 piston engine 4 gears) a while ago and had the radiator, radiator cap and waterpump replaced. The problem disappeared.
Suddenly the heat light started flashing whilst I was standing still at a roadworks (ten minutes) I switched the combi off and waited for a while then carried on. It was in the evening so it did not occur again.
However upon return we traveled during the day and the temperatures was high (26degrees Celsius) then the problems started!!
Traveling above 120km per hour the overheat light came on . I had to slow down to 100 km per hour alternatively had to stop and wait before proceeding.
If I traveled at 100km per hour the problem did not present itself again.
Please help.. Regards,
