Traveling on the highway at 60 MPH when the closed sunroof spontaneously exploded with no warning. Glass landed on my daughter and myself. VW of America is claiming it broke due to outside influence. They are offering to replace the broken glass, but not repair the damage to the paint on the roof and sides of the car as well as the damaged roof rails.

My panoramic sunroof exploded spontaneously. The dealership in area is owning the problem and helpful. VW America was initially rude and difficult. I'm in a holding pattern to see how they will handle my request to trade the vehicle for a safe one without a sunroof, as this is a documented and known material defect.
