I was on the road with my 4 year old grandson in traffic when the vehicle Glow Plug LIght begins to flash. The vehicle then began to stall. I immediately pulled off to the side of the road (ex-Police Officer) for safety purposes and shut the engine off. In checking the Manual there was no mention that I could not attempt to re-start so I attempted == NOTHING. Engine turned over but would not start. I had it towed to my trustworthy mechanic and was told there were fine metal particles throughout the fuel system and the entire system would have to be replaced which would cost approximately $4-5K. My mechanic made a few calls and I was told VW stated they "might" pay for a portion of it.
In speaking with VW they are claiming that "YOU PUT GAS IN THE ENGINE" so they are REFUSING to cover ANYTHING. Really?! Dishonest Dealership!!
