How can a company as big as VW, change a service part ie the rear brake pads, under warranty, then due to the resonance noise from pad and disk, but say that the scoring to the pad area of the disk is down to wear and tear, when it’s only the pad that touches the face of the disk. The car has only covered 19,000 miles but this resonance problem was reported to my local dealer when it went in for its first service at about 10,000 miles, the rear disks are scored due to the harsh brake pad material and nothing else. As you can see from the images they are scored all the way across the disk facia and is concurrent with pad to disk application. The front brakes were also inspected at the same time as the rears and show only 30% ware but the rears are 60% worn?
So I have had to pay to have the rear disks replaced and the pads done under warranty. WTF?
