Same grinding noise as everyone else from the transmission or torque converter. One dealer said it’s normal torque converter noise, the other said normal noise from the torque converter clutch but the vibration and loss of power during the grinding that used to only occur at 30 mph now starts at 22 and continues until at least 45 mph unless I take my foot off the gas and try again. Also there is now a lot of vibration in the pedal even when I’m not hearing the noise which is rarely. One dealer said they heard it right away and the other said it took then forever to replicate it. I hear it every time I accelerate from a stop. I’ve owned a 99 Jetta, a 2000 Golf, a 2002 Passat 1.8t (the one with the sludge problems) and never have I been treated so poorly when I had a complaint. Definitely my last VW unless they fix this soon.
