I was driving the vehicle late at night, absolutely no traffic in the area. I love in South Dakota so it was cold. I turned on the rear defrost and after only a minute of having it on, the entire back windshield burst out of the car. No rocks, no traffic no people. There was a loud bang and the entire window blew out of the vehicle

Hot day (~107f), car started fine but after a mile of driving ALL ELECTRICAL systems appeared to STOP with the following error: "Starter System Faulty. Please Service Vehicle." The engine kept going, and the car was driven home (with no signals, speedo, air conditioning, lights etc.) If this had happened in a more demanding situation (e.g. weather, night or traffic) there could have been an accident. There are numerous threads online about this happening to 2019 Jettas in hot weather, and the ignition switch being blamed. I recreated the issue in the heat of the day, but the car worked fine later on when the day cooled down.

As I was driving the vehicle the car just randomly shut off. It turned off the air conditioning and wiper blades as it was raining. It said to check starter system or ignition system or something like that. I recently had the software update recall done at the dealer also had a new battery installed by the dealer between two days. Also said something about checking the key battery. It has happened on two separate occasions this week alone.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer stated that no failure was found; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 20,000.

Intermittent smoke smell coming from the lf door. (10 days ago dealer said operating per design and intent when compared to similar or like vehicle.) window seal has come come off 4 times. Last night car had been parked around 5am and when I went out to the car around 5:30pm the power window switch had melted destroying the switch and the lf door panel.

I had parked my 2019 Jetta in my locked garage last night. When I went to use the car this morning, and before I got into the car, I noticed that the driver's side window was shattered. I am the only one who lives in the house. The garage is attached to the house, and there aren't any windows in the garage. The only way into the garage is through a door from the kitchen or by using the garage door. There is no sign of any forced entry, but my driver's side window is shattered with most of the glass on the driver's seat, some on the garage floor (~5%) and very little (~2%) on the roof of the car. It would appear that the window was not all the way up after I parked it in the garage, which is based on the amount of shattered glass in and around the car. There is no sign of any damage to the workings of the garage door, including the springs. There is no sign of anything having fallen onto the car, or from inside the car. There is no sign of anything having been taken from the car. The car was stationary and it had been parked in the garage for at least 12 hours.

While driving about 70mph on the highway, car in motion, going straight, not turning, I hear a loud pop. The sound was similar to a gun shot. In fact, it was so loud it startled me, causing me to swerve to the left, almost hitting the car in the lane to the left of me. I frantically looked around the oustside of my car, and noticed the sound of wind above my head was loud and then saw broken glass all over the passenger seat. The sunroof had broke, and I know for sure it was no rock or outside cause. It was still daytime, and I never saw anything fly at me. There was not an overpass or bridge to drive under for about 8 miles. So, I know nothing had dropped onto and threw the window. Curious about this, I look up online 'defective broken sunroof VW Jetta 19' and find multiple stories of people having similar experiences. I guess this is happening more often with a lot of makes and models of cars, because the sunroof is a common feature put in cars nowadays and they are larger in size. Also, I found out VW is in court now for older models of their cars having defective sunroof, and they know they were poorly designed but still put them in and sold them with no disclosure to thw customer of the poor quality sunroof. This happened 12/29/19, and as of now the dealership wont fix it. VW wont fix and claim that their engineers are saying the window broke from the outside, like from a rock. These engineers are concluding this by looking at pictures. They are not investigating my car in person but by pictures sent to them. If one looks at the sunroof of my car in person you can see that the glass has broken up and out ward towards the sky not downward towards the seats, which is what a rock would do. They want me to call my insurance and have them deal with it. This is frustrating and not right of VW. I almost wrecked, so this surely could cause a death or someone getting hurt

The wipers screech when operating headlights are not aligned properly wrong gear is displayed on the instrument cluster sometimes slight metal grinding noise when the clutch is depressed (can only he heard from the outside). Engine has soft hissing noise and shakes a little when the running cold (can be only heard from outside). The dealership has failed to acknowledge this. Car shakes when reversing with gas.

All issues written here have been happening since day of purchase, as of June 2018. VW currently denies issues and claims reports are of normal operation of vehicle. I love this car I just want VW to provide a fix. Vehicle has a continuous grinding noise coming from behind engine area when vehicle is in motion accelerating from 27- 30mph after that it subsides. Sounds of grinding depends what drive mode your are in. Eco has the loudest noise. Many other reports suspect transmission problems. Vehicle while stationary has a strange noise coming from the front left engine area that sounds like a rotation humming grind noise, usually occurs after vehicle was in motion and then stopping at a red light. Vehicle while in motion blind spot monitor on driver side mirror lights up during bad weather even when no vehicle is present in blind spot. Also, can happen when there is no bad weather. Vehicle while in reverse during rain if equiped with drive assist will automatically break stop for you while no vehicle is present. Winsheild wiper blades leave streaking marks into windshield that doesnt go away. Paint also easily chips when pebbles from highways hits the hood of the car. I have taken the vehicle to VW North hills 1cochran pittsburgh pa they stated they do not know about the grinding noise, and it was most likely the turbo charge engine. They also investigated the blind spot monitor stating sensor is dirty just needs cleaned. That's also false becuase after VW North hills 1cochran cleaned it on a clear sunny day as I left the dealership the blind spot monitor came on intermittently. This vehicle at time of report has 23000 miles on it has it drives a lot of highway. Risk of vehicle accident while accelerating usually between 30-80mph with known issues are high. Please investigate.

Factory wipers result in streaking, replaced at less than 5K miles. Problem alleviated. Typical metallic grinding at low speeds, as described by other reports. Passenger led headlight ring excessively dim. Multiple sources report open recall for this, however, no sources including dealer agree my vehicle is included. Several people have pointed out my faulty headlight ring. Review of photos containing vehicle indicate headlight issue was not present at purchase. Can not confirm.

Windshield wipers on medium and high settings, hits a pillar and make a loud tapping metallic every wipe. It's a poor quality sound that gets worse at highway speeds because of added wind stress to wipers. My 2005 beater Nissan Sentra wipers operating sounds like a Lexus compared to this 2019 Jetta sel. Told dealer, they tested and confirmed it's a problem. Repaired car with a "wiper arm adjustment". I pick up car and of coarse, wipers still make the stupid noise. I will take back next oil change and push harder. It ruins this cars refinement when its raining, it's so annoying and very noticable.
