would not shift. or big thud noise when i put in reverse

I noticed this problem for about a month. I thought maybe since it was a new car maybe it was normal. Then I had other passengers starting to notice the issue as well. I got in contact with corporate (VW) they had a representative by the name of Doug contact me. He had me set up an appointment at Smith VW in Wilmington, DE. I had an appt set up for 9/29/15 in the morning. I waited for the car. The service manager came out and said the first technician heard the thud in the transmission I had been complaining about. However, he wanted one of his experienced technician to drive it. I waited for this experienced technichian. I had to ask him what he found and he said he took it for a 14 mile drive and found no issue with the transmission. So I left very upset.
