Dunlop SP Sports are the Tires that came on my 14 VW GLI and they are a defective tire. The sidewalls cannot hold up to normal daily driving. 3 of my 4 tires have HUGE bubbles in the sidewalls. Sure the tires have taken some minor bumps in the road, but nothing major at all. With a little research I found out that this is clearly a well documented problem with these specific tires. I called my dealer and they too told me that they have seen this issue multiple times.
I contacted Goodyear (Dunlop) and they told me to take my car to a GY dealer, which that dealer said they were caused from road hazards and wouldn't be covered. GY gave me 60 off a Goodyear tire anyway, which was nice of them I suppose. I was extremely frustrated replacing tires on a car that is only 9 months old. These tires clearly can't handle any road conditions and the Dunlops are $220. No way I would even replace 1 of these tires with the Dunlop SP Sports, people have and within weeks they are replacing another. VW should stop using these tires when GY makes a better tire, that is also cheaper. These things are junk, read any review and know that its not an isolated incident.
GY customer service was solid, I wasn't happy with their product at all and wanted more then $60 per tire but take what you can get and move on.
and of course my tire blew out on the way to have them inspected, go figure.
