2014 Volkswagen Jetta, second owner bought it in 2016. Using oil so much I am completely refilling it monthly.

Its not leaking, just some how using it. It doesn't smoke. But at some point you will hear the roar and sure enough it is low AGAIN. I believe its that I have never owned a VW, and I am sorry its mine. So far I have not found where VW is taking responsibility. I see other having the some complaint and where possible there is a suit in the works but at some point I feel like I am going to seize up the engine.

Jetta SE 1.8t

  • Automatic transmission
  • 101,000 miles

My mechanic said BIG CONSUMPTION PROBLEM!!! I just changed oil and plugs/tune-up and had to add a quart after just 790 miles. I always used synthetic 5W-40. I always had service intervals of 7500, not 5000, and not the recommended 10,000 per manual. The Customer Care Advocate at VW informed me to have dealer measure it filled and see at what mileage it needs a quart. The manual says per 1200 miles.

Jetta SE 1.4L L4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,000 miles

This car used to run like a dream, for 5 years I did all the responsible things a car owner does for their car. I never had an issue until now. A few months ago the oil light refuses to come on and won't alert me that the oil is depleted, which is unusual. I sent it to a mechanic that I know is highly rated to fix Jetta Volkswagens. He took care of my oil the first time.

The second time it was about a month and my oil is nearly out again. I take it back to the mechanic. He completely took it apart and cleaned it and looked at my seals and gaskets and he couldn't figure it out. He puts it back together and he does this for free because he couldn't find the problem. He told me that the engine is not damaged but it should not be burning through oil so fast.

The car is burning through oil like crazy. It now goes through a whole bottle every two weeks. I heard that Volkswagen has an under the radar recall for these engines because of the excessive oil. I want to know how to fight them to get the recall. The mechanic told me that if I fight real hard for it, I should get it. He knew a woman who fought for it and after a week of fighting it, they did it. They replaced the engine for free. It is of course kept under the radar because it is a $4,000 fix. They should allow for a recall on this.

Lately my car now will have the EPC light on if I drive it for too long. Which scares me because I wonder if it is becoming a huge safety hazard.

Jetta TSI 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 93,206 miles

2014 VW Jetta TSI - 175,000KM. Purchased in 2014. Replaced spark plugs twice, oil changes always on time or early. Only problem I have is my oil vanishes or burns out after driving 600KM. Usually after every trip or end of day I check my oil level and it always ends up decreasing on the dipstick.

I recently had my PCV changed and spark plugs. I had a cleaning done and an oil change. I use synthetic oil 5W-40 Castrol. Please help! I want to avoid going to Volkswagen dealer because they literally spend 3 hours doing a simple oil change every time.
