I started my car 15 minutes before leaving the house as it is 10 degrees F out and I have my 3 year old granddaughter. I got in the car and the engine was 2/3 to warm status. I noticed it was chilly in the car, which had both front controls set at 75 on defrost and floor, so I cranked the fan up and added the vent. The car was blowing ice cold air, like the A/C was on.
Well, I initially thought I would drive my granddaughter to school and go to work and then call the dealership, but I decided I didn't want to subject my granddaughter to another 30 minutes with no heat. I could see my breath. When I arrived at the dealership, they were just opening. The service technician was not at all interested, or apologetic, that I was having a heat issue in frigid temperatures. They had no cars to give me and could not do any better than at least an hour to minimally diagnose the issue. He wouldn't reach out to a manager, even though he stated he wasn't authorized to pull cars off the lot.
Finally, he brought in the Service Manager, who went and looked at the car. Low and behold, he got the heat working by turning it on "High" for both controls. When I said there was something wrong with the car that it would blow frigid air set at 75, his only response was "If you don't get enough air the next time, turn it on high". Very nonchalant and not at all concerned what might cause me to have no heat in the first place. He couldn't answer why it happened, just kept repeating to turn it on high and see what happens.
This is the third issue I have had with this car - also the adaptive lights not working (which the same service manager insisted I DON'T have until I proved to him I do), and the starter was already replaced.
