TSB Document:
Affected Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
- Summary
- Technical Bulletin (Cylinder Glow Plug issues): During the initial glow phase, after switching the ignition "On", the ECM performs a check of the glow plugs through the glow plug control module, to ensure the correct glow plugs are installed. If the engine is cranked during this check, lowering the system voltage, the ECM may receive an incorrect reading and set incorrect glow plug faults. A production solution is already being implemented for this issue. This document discusses the "Fault Codes" necessary to diagnosis, and potential remedy of the issue. The fault codes for checking warranty coverage for servicing the vehicle are also available.
