CarComplaints.com Notes: Digging through the long list of NHTSA complaints about a sudden loss of engine power and the high pressure fuel pump failing, it's never good to come across the "my car (with a cold engine) set itself on fire in the middle of the night" complaint.

I was driving my car on route 95 at night and a car cut in front of so I honk the horn and My driving lights blew. I had to pull off the next exit with my emergency light flashers only to find an auto parts store so I can get both bulbs replaced. I then look up for recalls on my vehicle and came up with that it had electrical issues with the horn, how it can cause serious damage to electronics in the car and that it could actually shut the engine off.
I contacted VW of the problem they said since my car has high mileage that I have to pay for the repairs. That really left a bad taste in my mouth. This is my first Volkswagen I ever bought and will be my last. Does anyone have information so I can escalate my problem so I can get my horn to work again. I strongly believe that VW should be held accountable for the cost and repairs of my vehicle regardless of my mileage of my car. Please someone help me so I can find a way for them to pay for this recall.
