The wiring harness was placed over the wiper motor and with vibration and use of the wipers, the wiring harness developed a crack shorting out the motor. When this occurred, the car went into limp mode. This happened twice and could have resulted in a crash or killing myself or my daughter. The mechanic initially could not find the cause and ended up replacing the throttle body under the extended warranty that we purchased when we bought the car used. This car was traded in under the lemon law for the same issue that was never resolved by VW.
