I purchased a BRAND NEW VW Jetta California Edition which is the limited edition series. I love the car but the first time I washed it after I bought it, I noticed the rubber molding on the exterior of the car around the windows was fading and had major water spot stains! Even the column plastic area separating the front door with the rear door, plastic is fading! This car is brand new. I park it in a garage where I live and also where I work. So the excuse that it's fading due to being in the sun is nonsense. I'm sure it was parked at the dealership in the sun but still! I've tried every cleaning product you can think of but the spots and the faded molding keeps coming back. It makes my BRAND NEW car look freaking old!
I'm in the process of taking it back to the service dept. at VW to have it examined closer. I had a 90 day service inspection and the service people there noticed the problem as well but no one offered to do anything about it. They also tried to place blame on myself for parking it in the sun. NOT the case! So, we'll see what happens. Can anyone tell me if they've had similiar problems like mine and if so what they did to rectify it? Thanks!
