When driving into a sweeping curve at 45 - 65 mph, the steering mechanism or rack & pinion system locks and fails on my '09 Jetta wolfsburg edition sometimes leading to a short skid and temporary loss of steering control. I previously owned the exact same year and make vehicle that exhibited the same defect. Due to this and other defects, the manufacturer replaced the vehicle. I'm now starting to experience the same issue with the new replacement vehicle. I've made the manufacturer aware of the issue through my local dealer. They've conducted a thorough review and released the car back to me unable to find anything wrong. I was told to continue driving the car unless/until it recurs. The problem has not yet been resolved.
