The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact stated that the gear shift selector shifted to neutral without warning similar to NHTSA campaign id number: 09V164000 (power train:driveline:driveshaft). He was able to pull to the side of the road where he manually powered the vehicle off and restarted it again which allowed the vehicle to reset. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who they replaced the mechatron. The current mileage was 40,000 and the failure mileage was 36,000.
