I was driving on the Dallas North side road going to Service King to get my car fixed after a guy bumped into me from behind. It was a simple fix, no worries. As I was driving a warning light comes on and I pull over into a lot to read what it is. It stated glow plugs, I read what I should do to correct the issue.
Well, my car would start and then die. I ended up having it towed to Service King to get it fixed. My husband read about other 2009 VW Jetta TDI on YouTube to try and see what the issue was. He went to VW and told them and they stated to him that the engine was special made and that glow plugs would cost $137 each. My husband thought they were crazy to ask for that kind of money for something such as glow plugs. He bought two and changed them and a new battery; then went back and bought some kind of board because my whole dashboard was lit up and it was draining the new battery.
After SK, we got it towed to VW and a tech called me and stated that my timing belt was broken and that it was way too early for something like that, then he started talking about a engine head and how that can cost a substantial amount of money. I was completely upset. I am so irritated that VW need to be SUED for this engine defect they have in the 2009 model. Nobody, but nobody should have to pay for a timing belt that isn't it's mark yet, and that warning light was wrong too. It sums up and all centers around the engine.
I WANT A LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THEM. It is total BS!!
