I took my vehicle in for its 40,000-mile maintenance. Driving back from the dealership, the TPMS light came on. I had to look the thing up, but finally determined that one of the tires wasn't properly inflated. Funny, everything was fine when I drove into the dealership, but now I have this light on as I leaving. Well, I checked the tire pressure in all of the tires and it came up OK. I had someone at a tire service facility check the pressure in all of the tires and it came up OK.
I called the dealership and they said that the lights were "sensitive" and may be giving a false signal. So, I ignored the light for months. As it turns out, I shouldn't have because there was something wrong with the tire pressure. I ran around with improperly-inflated tires for months because I didn't trust this stupid light and had to replace the tires again.
