Transmission problems didn't show up until car warmed up (15-30 minutes of driving), then HARD downshift in around town driving. Stop lights, etc. Had transmission replaced for $2700. and a year later the car now has a loud thunk when car is started and put into reverse and when put back in park (sudden failure, no warning). The car is being towed back to repair shop, and I have no idea how much MORE money I will need to dump into this car. We are not hard on this car at all. I do not recommend anyone buy an 07 Jetta, but if you have to buy one the Wolfsburg 2.5L is NOT the car to buy.
